ABCD Inc. (headquarters: Tokyo; Representative Director and CEO: Tatsuya Shiono) is launching MORUBY, a premium Indian frozen French fry brand, in the Japanese market.
Through importing and selling Indian building materials — tiles in particular — we have built a strong network with factories on the ground. We are now applying that supply chain management to food, to deliver high quality and stable supply to a Japanese frozen potato market where availability has become a concern.
What sets MORUBY apart
- A carefully chosen variety: made solely from Santana, a premium variety officially licensed from a European seed company.
- High dry matter content: 34±1%, well above the 22–24% of ordinary potatoes. It delivers a fluffy texture when fried together with an excellent yield (66–72%).
- Rigorous control of appearance: consistently rated 0–1, the highest grade on the USDA colour chart, for a clean golden colour with little scorching or discolouration.
- Clean label: 100% natural, with no additives or preservatives of any kind.
